PRK (Photorefractive Keratectomy) – The Eye Infirmary

PRK (Photorefractive Keratectomy)

Photorefractive Keratectomy treats vision problems caused by refractive errors. As the first type of laser eye surgery for vision correction, PRK is designed to correct nearsightedness, farsightedness and astigmatism. PRK uses an excimer laser to apply computer controlled pulses of light energy to reshape the cornea, with the procedure taking approximately 5-15 minutes per eye. This is a great option for candidates of refractive surgery that have dry eyes.
